“Carpe Diem, Respice Ad Futurum”

“Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

Isaiah 43:18-19

 

1) The Past Reviewed – Stop and take an inventory of your life.

      A. Reflect on your priorities. (Matthew 6:33)
      B. Assess your character. (Lamentations 3:40)
      C. Review relationships. (Proverbs 13:20)
      D. Evaluate your stewardship.

2)  The Past Released (Vs 18)

     A. Forgetting the past frees us from guilt and shame. (Galatians 5:1)
     B. Letting Go requires courage and faith. (Ephesians 4:20-23)

3)  The Future Renewed (Vs 19)

 

13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
