Yielding To The Holy Spirit

“Yielding To The Holy Spirit”

WHAT’S INVOLVED IN YIELDING TO THE HOLY SPIRIT?

13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise..
Ephesians 1:13

But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
Romans 8:9

25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Galatians 5:25

1ST. WE YIELD TO HIS “EMPOWERING

12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
Romans 8:12-13

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
Acts 1:8

16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man..
Ephesians 3:16

2ND. WE YIELD TO HIS “LEADING”

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
Romans 8:14-15

The Holy Spirit will lead us in life!

Now in the church that was at Antioch there were certain prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away.
Acts 13: 1-3

28 For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things
Acts 15: 28

3RD. WE YIELD TO HIS “WITNESSING

16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
Romans 8: 16-17

How does the Holy Spirit “Bear Witness” with our spirit?

1). Through “Salvation” (v. 16)
This is who you are, this is right, this is the way to go.

2). Through “Suffering” (v. 17)
The trials of life, the hardships of life will quickly tell you whether you are a child of God or not.
