LIVING OFF YESTERDAY’S FEELINGS

LIVING OFF YESTERDAY’S
“FEELINGS”

Have you lost your feelings?

1. Your feelings toward “God”

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind…” (Lk. 10:27)

Jesus models this for us in a beautiful way:

He wanted oneness and fellowship with the Father

“… that they may be one, just as We are one…” (Jn. 17:22)

He wanted to continually hear from the Father

I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge…” (Jn. 5:30)

He wanted to do the Father’s will and accomplish His work

My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.” (Jn. 4:34)

He wanted to please the Father in every way

The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.” (Jn. 8:29)

2. Your feelings toward “Others”

Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.”
(Phil. 2:4)

He was moved with compassion for them” (Mt. 9:36)

3. Your feelings toward “Church”

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.”
(Eph. 5:25)

Where else can you go to get:

Teaching

And they continued steadfastly in the apostle’s doctrine…” (Acts 2:42)

Fellowship

and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers” (Acts 2:42)

Community

Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common” (Acts 2:44)

Benevolence

and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.”
(Acts 2:45)

Gladness

they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart…” (Acts 2:46)

Favor

praising God and having favor with all the people…” (Acts 2:47)
